This post about sunglasses under $150 is sponsored in part by Ottica. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sunglasses are probably my favorite accessory. I think they are the one accessory I have consistently worn over the last 10 years. The style of shades and the price range have varied, but I’ve always rocked sunnies.
I guess the main reason for that is that I’m from Florida. Since the sun is blinding you every second it’s not raining, you have to protect those puppies. Even since I’ve moved north, I still make sure to take them with me everywhere I go. I am that girl that wears them on the subway in the morning (it gives me a weird, false sense of privacy) and I am that girl that wears them hungover at brunch on Sunday.
More frequently though, I’m that girl that uses them as a headband when I’m indoors. It really just perfectly holds back your flyaways! Plus, it balances out my large face when they’re perched up there…
If you’re a sunglass aficionado like me, you’ll know it’s important to keep building up that collection. You should have several different pairs and styles, because they can really make a large, but inexpensive difference to your outfit. My suggestion would be to have 2-3 pairs in the $100-$200 range that are classic colors (like my brand-new Carolina Lemke’s from Ottica) and not too trendy. The rest of your collection (7-10 additional pairs sounds right to me) should be under $50, so you can swap them in and out without any guilt.
I found 50 other fabulous pairs for you to sift through, but I really do recommend the pair I’m wearing here. They’re sturdy (unlike those under $50 pairs), actually protect your eyes and add a leopard print twist to a classic shape. Ottica has a cool feature where they show you how glasses will look based on different face shapes which is invaluable for me since most glasses are too small for my face. I was able to know right away that these would work- so beneficial when shopping online

Enjoy these photos from my trip last weekend to Smorgasburg, an outdoor, food festival in Prospect Park (on Sundays and Williamsburg on Saturdays). It’s a favorite for hubs and I, because the food options are just so interesting (i.e. it’s home to the ramen burger). I highly recommend it as a place to take guests, especially when it’s in Williamsburg.
