It’s the best time of the year: UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER TIME. You heard that right. It’s a full-on season for me. That’s because the Watkins have become synonymous with throwing baller ugly Christmas sweater parties, and it’s something we are very proud of especially when you take into consideration the (lack of) square footage we own rent.
2017 is our third year of hosting it, and I am already getting ready for the event. In fact, there will be a full-on décor post about it soon, so stay tuned for that. One way that we’re stepping it up this year is to have real, live paper invites to send out to our friends and fam.
We got ours this year from Basic Invite, they have so many beautiful and adorable holiday card options (from typical cards, to party invites to announcements). Since our annual event is centered around drinks, we thought this “Eat, Drink and be Merry” card was perfect.
When selecting a holiday card or invitation, I think it’s so important to be unique, personal and fun. We all get 100000 holiday cards every year, so we should always be trying to stand out in the pile. I mean if you’re not aiming to be front and center on the holiday card display, you’re not doing it right.

Basic Invite has several options that are too cute to say “no” to. I shared the holiday party invitations I purchased plus additional photo Christmas cards I loved from their site. They’ve got everything from foil (rose gold for the holidays, anyone?) to 40 different colors of envelopes. Just make sure you snag them fast, because the ideal time to send them out is the first week/weekend of December!
P.S. I made a spelling error. If you catch it, just know it was totally my bad. My guests will think I’ve gotten into the beer before the party even started.
