I’ve come to realize that my “fashion eye” only goes so far. I can put together cute outfits, but they’re never elaborate. I like dainty jewelry and clothing that isn’t too flashy, but still retains a unique flair. When it comes to dressing for big occasions, I really hone in on one piece and pair it with a jewelry that enhances the clothing rather than competes for attention.
When searching for an outfit to wear to a bridal shower in Miami last weekend, I knew I wanted something a little off the beaten path. Pastels and florals are the go-to for bridal shower attendees, but I’ve never been one to wear too much of either. Obviously, I would’ve gone with black or white on any other occdassion, but both are illegal for bridal showers, so I had to get comfortable with a new kind of neutral: red.
I was little uneasy when I first picked if off the rack at Zara, because it just looked sooo bright, but I was really drawn to the style and cute pom poms on the hems and sleeves. After trying it on, finding out how flattering it was and taking a few seconds to get comfortable with the color (slash color in general), I knew I had to get it. It’s seriously the most comfortable thing and is suitable for so many occasions: from date nights to bachelorette parties to church.
Like I said, I never try to detract attention from my major clothing pieces, so I paired it with a silver necklace I’ve had for probably a million years (similar version here) and two sets of gold hoops. The pair in my first hole (pictured below) are from Chloe + Isabel. I love that they’re so small and simple from further away, but so beautiful and intricate upon closer inspection. I have had them in since I got them, because I’m really loving multiple mini-hoops instead of multiple studs right now. It feels like the cool girl version of a classic ear party.
