I have always been a fan of good jeans. 90% of the time I am wearing some sort of denim, so it’s important to me to have quality jeans. I’ll invest money in pairs I know I’ll get wear out. When I don’t invest, I end up pushing them further and further back into my closet until I never wear them because a) they’re falling apart and b) they’re so uncomfortable and rigid. I’ve switched my fall investment jeans this year from your average high-rise, straight-leg, dark-wash jean to pairs with a little more flare.
Since I tend to be a plain Jane and wear a lot of tees and stripes and very little vibrant colors and crazy patterns, I have to started to spice up my outfit in my denim. Basically, I used to use my jeans as more of a background singer, but now they’re the main attraction! The styles I’ve been leaning towards for fall are ones with frayed hems, deconstructed details and bell bottoms. I tend to wear darker washes and black jeans in the fall, but actually think all the grungy light-wash jeans are perfect for cozy sweaters and leather jackets.
More specifically, these are my two fall pairs that I’ll likely live in this season:
- Black bootcut jeans with flared bottoms and a frayed hem (i.e. the Zoeey Straight Jeans – Far Away)
- High-rise, distressed wash jeans with a deconstructed hem and small paint splatters (i.e the Heartbreaker Black Bootcut Jeans in Abandon Wash)

The brand I chose for my fall jeans this year was Hudson Jeans. I have always been in love with their jeans and cool-girl vibe, but I’m even more of a fangirl now after wearing these denim beauties. Every detail is just so perfect that I just want to pair it with a t-shirt and booties so all the attention is on them. The other reason I’ll be wearing all fall long is because the quality is just so much better than other jeans. They’re distressed and frayed, but it is clearly made in a way where it’s not just going to rip apart after a wash. They’re also so soft and cozy, which when you have to wear pants EVERY day, is a necessity.
