Unique Gifts for the True Host or Hostess

Unique Gifts for the True Host or Hostess | Kayla's Five Things

This post is sponsored by Thoughtfully. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love giving presents. I like reallyyyyy love it. I love taking the time to think about a person and imagine what they might want and then being able to watch them light up as they unwrap it. I know that materials things are just that, things, but I just get a lot of joy out of giving them. I also get pretty happy receiving them. So what?! Sue me.

Anyway, if you also like to come up with gifts for people that aren’t just generic and impersonal, I’ve got a whole online store that will blow your mind. It opens the door to gives that a) your friend will have never received before b) are beautifully packaged and c) are thoughtful and generous at all price points. Thoughtfully is incredible resource for gifts of all type (from birthday to holidays to seasonal goodies). The options on their site that I want to focus on today is there host/hostess gifts.

In my opinion, people who entertain can be hard to buy for. The women and men that are always throwing the parties and hosting the dinners often have it all. They have all the candles, flowers and bottles of wine you probably lean towards purchasing when you come over. Those things are sweet and can be enjoyed over and over, but often it feels a little flat to give. I have a few options for these same people that I think will mean a lot more.

I know you don’t necessarily always need to bring something for the host/hostess of every house party and dinner you go to. I like to save these type of gifts for things like housewarming parties or if they host something that likely cost a lot of money, time and effort (i.e. your bridal shower or Christmas dinner). It’s nice to give them something to show that you appreciate all their hard work and don’t take it for granted.

Below, I photographed what I think is the ideal housewarming gift from Thoughtfully, The Olive Oil Shoppe. I think it’s perfect for the couple that bought their first home or are celebrating a major milestone. It also makes a great bridal shower/wedding present for a woman who loves to cook and host dinner parties. The Olive Oil Shoppe basically allows you to make your own flavors of olive oil and includes everything from the funnels and glass containers to hold your finished products to the ceramic fusti to store your oil. It’s basically a mature, adult gift that also happens to also be SUPER fun if you’re the type of person that likes to create and then share with guests.
